The first chapter of my GW rewrite is nearly complete (I'm reformatting it and separating it into the three main points of view with an aside featuring the other pilots so it flows better), but I've a problem... I got a new laptop, got into a groove, and now it's nearly 11,000 words long.
I've asked some of my fans and friends on Facebook if I should split it into two or three parts, which I'm a little loath to do since I'm already splitting Scenario for Bloodshed into two parts, or leave it the way it is as many of the succeeding chapters will most likely be over 7,000 words each. No help there. Though several said to split it, mostly because they didn't like the high word count, some actually asked if succeeding chapters would be as long. I admitted they probably would.
So, I'm back where I started, wondering if I should split "episode" one into two or more parts. Go figure.
What do you think> Could you suffer wading through a chapter of 11,000 words?
